I QUIT: WORRYING
In this week’s Wednesday Rewind, Patrick Griffey reflects on Pastor Mike Smith’s message, “I Quit Worrying.”
Looking at Matthew 6:25–34, Patrick unpacks the deeper context behind Jesus’ command not to worry—starting with the word “therefore” and what comes before it. Jesus first challenges us to reconsider where we place our treasure, reminding us that what we value ultimately shapes our hearts. When our focus is on temporary, earthly things, worry naturally follows. But when our focus shifts to eternal things, worry begins to lose its grip.
Ultimately, worry reveals a lack of trust in God’s provision. Just as God faithfully provided for His people in the wilderness—giving them exactly what they needed each day—He continues to provide for us now.
