Covenant Classes

 2023 Fall Classes

Covenant Classes offer options for every step of your faith journey. In a Small Group you will study and grapple with the truth of God with other believers who are on similar faith paths. There are classes for you whether you are beginning your journey or wanting to go deeper.

Kids, Students, and Technology : Facilitated by Melodie Streett and Patrick Griffey | Wednesdays, October 4th – November 15th | 6:30pm – 8:00pm          Covenant Church – Student Center

Our Children’s and Youth Pastors will be offered this course as families navigate a healthy and biblical foundation for technology. They will cover topics such as digital bullying, social media, among many other topics. They will also have guest speakers come in to address specific topics. Please sign up and bring a friend!

Mom Connection:  2nd Wednesday Nights | September 13th | 6:00pm – 8pm Covenant Church – Room 603/605

The mothers of Covenant gather on the 2nd of the month for a time of fellowship, study, worship, and discipleship. We encourage you to sign up and come on out. Childcare is provided – registration required at least 2 weeks out. For more questions, contact the Church Office.

Foundations and Practices of Methodism :                                                      Facilitated by Mike Smith, Discipleship Director                                        Wednesdays, September 27th – November 15th | 6:30pm – 8:00pm            Covenant Church – Room 609

Join other Covenant Church members as we discover and examine our Methodist theology and identity. We will do “deep dives” into what is Methodism, what makes Covenant unique, and how does Methodism stand apart from other theological groups/denominations. Imagine an “Adult Confirmation Class”. A study of the Book of Philippians : Facilitated by Rev. Linda Guthrie       Sundays, September 17th | 4:30pm – 6:00pm | Covenant Church – Room 603/605

In the book of Philippians, he expresses joy in their sharing the gospel, explains why he was imprisoned, and addresses the disunity among believers in the church.  Key Themes: By faith we have Christ in us because of the Spirit of God, Only Christ can bring salvation, and Christian unity encourages our faith. This class will be taught by Rev. Linda Guthrie and will fill up fast so sign up today!

Are you new to Covenant? Maybe you have been visiting for a while or just joined the church. We invite you to take your “first step” in joining the life of our church by learning what we are all about, what is uniquely different about Covenant, what is important to Covenant, and how you can be a part of what God is doing here at Covenant! We are just now finishing up our August session. Stay tuned for the start date for the last session of this Fall season. 

Women’s Class on Ruth by Kelly Minter:  Facilitated by Mickie Wike and Leslie Lunsford | Wednesdays, September 13th | 9:30am-11:30am                                      Covenant Church – Room 603/605

This study delves into the virtuous character of Ruth, her unique relationship with her mother-in-law Naomi, and her blossoming love with Boaz. If you’ve ever felt devastated, struggled as a stranger, longed to be loved, or wept along the way, you’ll find a loyal sister in Ruth. 

Worldviews, Faith, Science, and Jesus with Allen Buckner Wednesday Nights September 13th  – April 5th | 6:30pm – 8pm | Covenant Church – Room 613

Join us starting in September as we look at what it means to have a proper worldview, a “biblical worldview” in contrast to a secular world. We will engage dialogue about science, faith, and Jesus’ place in the midst of it all.
