Covenant – On the Move with Christ
“He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15. At Covenant, we believe in sharing the love of Jesus in our local community and abroad. Below is a listing of a few of the mission opportunities where you can be involved.

Local Missions.

Greer Soup Kitchen
The Greer Soup Kitchen, a part of Daily Bread Ministries, was founded in 1990 when concerned citizens observed that people in their own town were going hungry. Covenant supports the Greer Soup Kitchen in various ways.  On six Saturdays and six Sundays a year, we provide and serve a meal for approximately one hundred and fifty people.  We also provide food, paper products and monetary support throughout the year. Give a helping hand to members of our community.

Meals on Wheels
For over 20 years Covenant has been partnering with Greer Community Ministries’ Meals on Wheels program.  We are responsible for delivering Route 14, Monday through Friday, primarily in the Covenant area.  Our drivers deliver a hot meal and some warm conversation to approximately 15 very grateful homebound recipients.  Driving Route 14 takes approximately 1 to 1½  hours depending on how much time you have to spend with each recipient.  Volunteers pick up the meals at 10:30 AM at the Greer Community Ministries facility, 738 South Line Street Extension in Greer (not too far from Mutts BBQ on Hwy 14) and finish up near Covenant.  Be a part of this rewarding ministry!

Race for Adoption
Covenant plans, organizes and sponsors this annual 5K Walk / Run. It is truly a life changing event. Participants and volunteers help raise money to financially support a family’s adoption expenses. This is a fun service opportunity for the entire family! Get involved by being a part of the Race Planning Team or committing to run or walk in the Race.

Missions Abroad.

Compassion International
Through monthly gifts, prayer and letter writing, sponsors invest in the lives of children living in extreme poverty. This relationship communicates, “You are an important little person!” Sponsorship provides the opportunity for children to attend church-based child development centers where they receive life-changing opportunities which would otherwise be out of their reach. All Compassion-sponsored children have the opportunity to develop their God-given potential and be released from the poverty that has trapped their families for generations. Compassion International – Child Survival Program
Covenant partners with Compassion International to sponsor a Survival Program in El Salvador. We believe to reach children for Christ, we must first ensure their survival. The Child Survival Program rescues the world’s youngest, most vulnerable little ones. It helps local churches serve desperately poor mothers and caregivers, their at-risk babies and toddlers, as well as pregnant women, by providing access to medical assistance, pre and post-natal care, nutritious food, early child development, spiritual nurturing and other highly targeted interventions. Covenant, through Compassion, now hosts yearly mission trips to the project we support in El Salvador. More info here!

Operation Christmas Child
For many years now Covenant has joined with Franklin Graham’s Operation Christmas Child to spread the Word of God to impoverished children around the world. Shoe Boxes filled with toys, candy, letters, prayers, toiletries, clothing and the Story of the Gospel are collected locally and then distributed world-wide. You can participate by filling a shoe box or help the Cov Family fill shoe boxes at our annual Shoe Box Packing Event in November.

Missionary Families
Each year Covenant provides financial support for missionary families serving abroad. At this time, we are supporting three families in different parts of the world who are sharing the saving grace of Jesus Christ with others.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
