Our Pastor

Darren Hook

Senior Pastor

My wife LeeAnn and I have been in and around the church most of our lives, but we did not become “born-again” or establish a personal relationship with Jesus Christ until our young adult years. Maybe God allowed us to experience some time in the “wilderness” so that we could better minister and relate to a whole host of different people today. Our heart’s desire is to see men, women, boys, and girls develop an authentic Christian walk. No matter what has happened in the past, God is in the business of forgiveness, reconciliation, change, and salvation.

I surrendered to God’s calling on my life into full-time ministry over 20 years ago and feel very blessed to serve as Senior Pastor of Covenant UMC. During my ministry, I have been awarded the Harry Denman Evangelism Award recognizing Covenant’s emphasis on leading people to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. I have also received the G. Ross Freeman Leadership Award for encouraging men to be involved in ministry.

Over the last ten years at Covenant, the church has grown from an average worship attendance of 432 on Sunday mornings to over 1,100. Our Sunday School and small group attendance averages over 600 each week and our membership has grown from 1,171 to over 1,900. The best news of all is that 611 people have come into membership by profession of faith.

LeeAnn and I, as well as our three daughters, are very active in ministry together and we enjoy spending our time together outdoors in God’s beautiful creation. I would like to personally invite you to Covenant. We have three worship services on Sunday mornings. A traditional service at both 8:20 and 11:00 as well as a contemporary service at 9:40. We hope to see you in worship on Sunday mornings.

Life Verse: Matthew 6:33: “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
